Why me?
I asked this queston in my high school yearbook, and it is still with me. I take comfort in the wisdom of South Park. Chef's answer is "because God takes pleasure in your tears." Sounds about right.
I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis(MS)in 1997. My disease is progressive which is bad like testing "positive" for a cancer screening. I have progressed from walking to wheelchair, working to collecting disability, driving a car to needing a ride everywhere. That's progress for you.
So the girl who never grew up and figured out what she wanted to be was forced into retirement at 38. Everyone my age is either working, raising their litter of young'uns or both. I spend a lot of my time on the phone to doctors' offices, the insurance company, various pharmacies, the Social Security Administration and many other bureaucracies. I also get to see more doctors and specialists than I ever knew existed. Never a dull moment.
